Quantitative finance at Northeastern

Northeastern University Systematic Alpha (NUSA) is a premier student organization dedicated to quantitative finance and algorithmic trading and development. Founded in 2019 by passionate students, we bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world financial markets through hands-on learning and practical application.

Our members come from diverse academic backgrounds - mathematics, computer science, economics, engineering, and finance - united by a shared interest in the intersection of technology and finance. We provide a collaborative environment where students can develop technical skills, build professional networks, and gain exposure to cutting-edge financial technologies.

Through weekly workshops, guest speakers from industry, and collaborative projects, NUSA prepares members for careers in quantitative trading, risk management, financial engineering, and fintech. We build connections with industry practitioners through events such as our Fidelity office visit and member co-op panel.
